Dear MCS Athletes,
This is an unprecedented time for all of us. Our priority is the health and well-being of our athletes. We are truly heartbroken that our athletes are not on our fields and courts. Our thoughts go immediately to the senior athletes and we are devastated about your season. The Athletic Department wants you to know that your journey thus far at MCS will not be forgotten, you have impacted our program and we are proud to call you EAGLES. We are reminded in Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. God never promised us a plan without obstacles, His plan for us is built on hope and a future, and it is our hope that the season will be resumed.
At this point, we are looking to CIF, the governing body for athletics, for guidance; Junior High athletes will follow CIF protocol as well. For now, all practices and games are postponed until April 6 and coaches are to treat this time as a “NO CONTACT” period. The CIF will continue to work with our schools and school districts with the health and well-being of student-athletes and school communities as their priority.
Also of note, the MCS Task Force has closed the campus to our students, therefore athletes will not have access to the fields, gym or courts to practice individually or in groups.

Statement from CIF Regarding Practices and Competitions
“High School teams will not practice or compete during the period designated by each school or school district in which schools are closed; this includes practicing at alternative sites. For all intents and purposes, “no-contact period” guidelines will be in effect-coaches may not coordinate, schedule, direct or plan team activities and there can be no student-organized or led practices.”
“High School-athletes may not practice, train or compete with club teams during the high school season of sport.” Note: Junior high athletes do not have the club team restrictions – it only impacts high school athletes currently participating in a spring sport.
Please keep in mind that the purpose of all recent cancellations and closures is to actively encourage people to avoid groups and gatherings.
I pray that you all stay safe and be a light to the world in these dark times.
ALL THINGS
