Noah Rupp, Maranatha's first wrestler, finished his last regular season of high school wrestling at the Holtville Rotary Invitational with a first place finish. Rupp went 5-0 in the two-day tourney and won the championship match in overtime against a very tough Brawley opponent. Rupp finished the regular season 31-5 with some very impressive tournament finishes. The first round of post-season wrestling starts this Saturday with the CIF divisional championships at the Army-Navy Academy. The top four placers at each weight class at CIF will advance the to the Masters tournament the following weekend, where the top four at each weight class earn a highly coveted spot to wrestle at the CA State Championships. Last year Rupp was a CIF Champion, won an outstanding wrestler award, placed 2nd at Masters and was two rounds away from placing at state. Rupp has been training very hard this year and has his mind set on finishing his last year of Maranatha Wrestling in the California State record books. Please join the Maranatha community in congratulating Noah on a great season and an even better finish to his already impressive high school wrestling career.
